The total length of the main line in Guizhou is 559.47km, and the proportion of bridges and tunnels is 81.95%. There are 12 stations in total, and the average distance between stations is 48.62km. In February, 2009, the Shanghai Hangzhou section of Shanghai Kunming high speed railway was officially commenced, marking the official commencement of Shanghai Kunming high speed railway; On December 28, 2016, the Guiyang Kunming section of Shanghai Kunming high speed railway was officially opened to traffic, marking the official opening of the whole line of Shanghai Kunming high speed railway.
